Record-Setting Academic Performance Reinforces the Value of Exceptional Schools for Rocking K Families

The Vail Unified School District has earned the No. 1 ranking among Arizona’s large school districts and charter school networks, achieving a record-setting 3.95 grade point average in the state’s latest school performance ratings. The achievement, featured in the Arizona Daily Star on October 30, 2026, further establishes Vail’s reputation as one of Arizona’s leading public school districts. According to results released by the Arizona State Board of Education, Vail ranked first among districts and charter networks operating 10 or more schools. The district’s 3.95 GPA placed it ahead of Higley Unified, Gilbert Unified, Queen Creek Unified and BASIS Charter Schools. Even more impressive, 21 of Vail’s 22 schools eligible for state letter grades earned an A rating, with the remaining school receiving a B. The latest results also reflect Vail’s continued academic improvement. The district’s overall GPA increased from 3.76 in 2024 to 3.81 in 2025 before reaching 3.95 in 2026. Arizona’s school letter grades measure important indicators of student achievement, including academic growth, proficiency in state standards and college readiness. For families living in Rocking K, this recognition carries particular significance. Located within the Vail Unified School District, Rocking K offers residents access to a highly regarded public education system. The community’s newest school, Saguaro Creek K–8, opened in July 2025, bringing educational opportunities directly into the neighborhood and strengthening the connection between schools and community life. Vail’s success reflects a longstanding commitment to academic excellence, dedicated educators, engaged families and community involvement. The district’s guiding philosophy, “Where Education Is a Community Effort,” underscores the importance of collaboration in creating opportunities for students to succeed. At Rocking K, outstanding schools are an essential part of a lifestyle that combines educational opportunities with breathtaking Rincon Mountain views, neighborhood parks, scenic trails and the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert. Prop 423

Vail Unified School District Proposition 423 on November Ballot

Voters Will Consider Continuation of the District’s Existing 12.5 Percent Maintenance and Operations Budget Override

Rocking K believes informed communities are strong communities. This November, voters within the Vail Unified School District will consider Proposition 423, which would continue the district’s existing 12.5 percent Maintenance and Operations budget override for five years.

The budget override provides funding that supports Vail schools and the educational opportunities available to students throughout the district. Proposition 423 is a continuation of the existing override, giving voters the opportunity to decide whether that funding should remain in place for another five years.

For Rocking K residents and families, the issue is particularly relevant because the community is located within the Vail Unified School District. Rocking K’s Saguaro Creek K-8 School opened in July 2025, bringing a new Vail school directly into the community and further strengthening the connection between Rocking K and the district.

Rocking K Development encourages voters to learn about Proposition 423, review information provided by the Vail Unified School District and election officials, and understand how override funding supports Vail schools before casting their ballots.

The deadline to register to vote is October 5. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

Be informed. Make your voice heard. Vote.
