Families from across Southern Arizona come together on Saturday, April 12, for the annual Earth Day Spring Fling Event at Rocking K, a growing master-planned community nestled at the base of the Rincon Mountains. Hosted at Piedemonte Park and The Oasis by D.R. Horton, the event runs from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will offer a vibrant mix of Earth Day-themed activities, outdoor fun, and community connection.
The Spring Fling will bring in hundreds of attendees who enjoyed a wide variety of family-friendly attractions and educational experiences. Activities included RK Bunny photo ops, face painting, balloon twisting, train rides, and interactive encounters with reptiles provided by Southern Arizona Reptile Rescue. Lawn games like frisbee golf and cornhole kept families active, while spring craft tables and a cake walk added a playful, festive vibe.
The popular “Why Things Fly” kite festival and kite-making station delighted children and parents alike, offering hands-on fun with a nod to Earth Day’s appreciation for nature and the outdoors. An electric vehicle car show rounded out the celebration with a look at sustainable innovation in the region.
Local food trucks keep everyone fueled throughout the morning, and raffle prizes bring extra excitement to the day.
