El Tour de Tucson Returns November 21 — Right in Rocking K’s Backyard!

Residents Can Enjoy the Excitement of Southern Arizona’s Premier Cycling Event While Planning Ahead for Race-Day Traffic
One of Southern Arizona’s most celebrated sporting events returns Saturday, November 21, as the 43rd Annual El Tour de Tucson brings thousands of cyclists through Tucson and the greater Vail area. For Rocking K residents, it’s an exciting opportunity to experience this remarkable event right in their own backyard. Each year, El Tour de Tucson attracts cyclists from across the country and around the world to ride through the spectacular Sonoran Desert. With routes of approximately 102, 63 and 32 miles, the event showcases Southern Arizona’s breathtaking mountain views, open desert landscapes and welcoming communities. For residents of Rocking K, watching cyclists make their way through the surrounding Rincon Valley is a special experience. The energy of the riders, the encouragement from spectators and the excitement of a major sporting event create a wonderful opportunity for neighbors and families to come together and cheer on participants. With thousands of cyclists expected, residents should also prepare for temporary road closures and traffic delays throughout race day. Roads in the greater Vail area, including portions of Houghton Road, Valencia Road and Mary Ann Cleveland Way, will experience increased bicycle activity and traffic restrictions as riders pass through. Event organizers have provided detailed route maps, expected rider arrival times and road-closure schedules to help residents plan accordingly. Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time, consider alternate routes when necessary and follow directions from law enforcement and traffic-control personnel. Events like El Tour de Tucson highlight the active outdoor lifestyle and strong sense of community that make the Rincon Valley such a special place to live. Rocking K encourages residents to enjoy the excitement, cheer on the cyclists and help make race day a safe and memorable experience for everyone. Come out, cheer on the riders and experience El Tour de Tucson right in Rocking K’s backyard! For official route maps, road closures and race-day information, visit ElTourdeTucson.org.
