Saguaro Creek K-8 Opens Its Doors in Rocking K

Vail, AZ – July 14, 2025 – The Vail Unified School District’s newest school, Saguaro Creek K-8, officially opened its doors to students on the first day of the 2025–2026 school year.

Located in the heart of the Rocking K master-planned community, the school welcomed over 400 students in grades Pre-K through 7 on opening day.

More than a year in the making, Saguaro Creek K-8 represents a $32 million investment in education and community growth. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held just prior to the school’s first day, celebrating the efforts of Vail Unified School District leadership, staff, and builders who helped bring the campus to life.

Saguaro Creek K-8 offers a comprehensive educational experience with a strong academic foundation and a diverse mix of enrichment opportunities. Programs include advanced math, gifted education, visual arts, music, physical education, and more—creating a dynamic learning environment that supports whole-child development.

The school is designed to grow alongside the Rocking K community, with plans to expand and eventually serve 8th grade students in future academic years. Its location within one of Southern Arizona’s most desirable neighborhoods ensures strong ties between families, educators, and the surrounding natural beauty of the Rincon Valley.

With top-ranked programming and a vibrant setting, Saguaro Creek K-8 stands as another example of why the Vail School District continues to be a major draw for families moving to Rocking K and the greater Vail area.
